Sharon J. Kiefer-West

Sharon J. Kiefer-West, 67, of East Slippery Rock Rd., Chicora, Donegal Twp., passed away Thursday evening, January 4, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Sharon was born in Morristown, TN on July 12, 1956. She was the daughter of Dolores Quenton West of Morristown, Tennessee and the late John West.

She was a graduate of East High School in Morristown and earned a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN. Sharon retired following 40 years of distinguished service at the IRS in Austin, TX. She was a proud U.S Air Force veteran. Sharon was an avid reader, she enjoyed the company of family and friends, and her love of Legos was legendary. She is survived by her wife, Leanora A. Kiefer-West. The couple had been together for more than 42 years. Also surviving are two sisters, Diane Mason and her husband, Jeff, of Dandridge, TN and Cynthia Fanney of Morristown, TN; her brother in-law, Leo Kiefer of Chicora, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Anna Marie Kiefer and a brother-in-law, Joseph Keifer.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday. Military honors will be accorded by the Chicora and Brady’s Bend American Legion Posts at 7 pm. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Tornadoes Scholastic Foundation, to benefit the kids weekend backpack program mailed to Mcquistion Elementary School, 210 Mechling Dr, Butler, PA 16001: attention Kim Thomas.
